Katherine Schefe

Katherine Schefe, age 90, passed away on Monday, May 23, 2016 at her home. She was born on May 31, 1925 to the late Henry and Lily (Schmidt) Zimmer. On August 30, 1947, she married the late Earl Schefe and they had a loving marriage of 59 years. Katherine was a devoted housewife who loved and supported her family. Katherine enjoyed cooking, crafts, and crocheting afghans and doilies. She especially enjoyed spending summers at the cottage on Pickerel Lake with Earl and all of their special friends. She was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Katherine will be dearly missed by her children: Robert (Bonnie) Schefe, Appleton, Roger (Beth) Schefe, Spring, TX, Sandra (John) Wallace, Appleton, Christ (Jenny) Schefe, Mishicot, Peggy (Dennis) Mueller, Little Suamico; 12 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren. She is further survived by her brothers and sisters: Fern (Harry) Sepuha, George (Vera) Zimmer, Russell (Nancy) Zimmer, Carroll (James) Krause, Carl (Judy) Zimmer; sister-in-law: Wanda Zimmer; brother-in-law: Lloyd Mueller, as well as many other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by Frank Zimmer, and Elvira (Shirley) Meiers.

Funeral services for Katherine will be held at 11 a.m., at ZION LUTHERAN CHURCH, 912 N. Oneida Street, Appleton, on Saturday, May 28, 2016. There will be a time of visitation from 9 a.m. until the time of the service. Online condolences can be expressed at www.wichmannfargo.com.

In lieu of flowers, memorials will be donated in Katherine's name to Zion Lutheran Church organ fund.
