Virginia Catherine Netzel

Virginia Catherine Netzel, age 95 of Kaukauna, passed away on May 1, 2016. Virginia was born on September 8, 1920 in Milwaukee Wisconsin to James and Grace (Bourne) Gough. After graduating high school, Virginia attended and graduated from Mount Mary College in Milwaukee. She continued her education at Marquette University in Milwaukee and Lawrence University in Appleton. She worked as a teacher at the high school level, working at Prentice High School, Messmer High School, Kaukauna High School, Little Chute High School and Kimberly High School until she retired in the 1970's. During her career she received the Drama Award from Kaukauna High School.

On August 28, 1948 she married Patrick J. Netzel at St. Mary Catholic Church in Tomahawk Wisconsin and Patrick has preceded her in death. She was a member of Holy Name (now Holy Spirit) Catholic Church in Kimberly. She was very active in her church, being a member of the Holy Spirit Drama Club and the Holy Spirit Choir. She was also a member of The M Club at St. Mary, a Lifetime Member of the Kimberly Community Band and a longtime YMCA member where she received an achievement award for how many miles she had swum. At St. Paul Home she was a member of the St. Paul Villa Choir.

She will be sadly missed by her daughters: Mary (Pat) Boeselager of De Pere; Teresa (Bruce) Seidl of Appleton, grandchildren: Ellen (Neal) Cooper of Ft. Worth, Texas; Andrew (Heather) Hietpas of Conroe, Texas; Brandon Seidl of Appleton; Cameron (Miriah)Seidl of Appleton; Hannah Seidl of Appleton, great-grandchildren: Will Hietpas of Conroe, Texas; Sophie Hietpas of Conroe, Texas; Landen Cyracus; Isaiah Cyracus, as well as many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Patrick and a brother James Gough.

There will be a visitation on Wednesday May4, 2016 from 2:00pm to 3:00pm at St. Paul Home, 316 E. 14th Street in Kaukauna. Funeral Service will be at St. Paul Home at 3:00pm with Fr. Richard Allen officiating. For more information and to express condolences, please visit www.wichmannfargo.com.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established with donations being forwarded to the Kimberly Community Band and St. Paul Home, Villa Activity Department.
