Biography
Ralph Borree, age 84, passed away Monday, February 22, 2010 at the St. Paul Home in Kaukauna, WI. He was born September 5, 1925 in the Town of Harrison, Calumet County, WI, son of the late Louis and Bertha (Haase) Borree. He was baptized and confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church in Dundas, WI. Ralph relocated to the Neenah and Menasha area, where he was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. He retired from the Shipping and Warehouse Dept. of the Lakeview Mill of Kimberly-Clark, Neenah, after approximately 38 years.
Being an outdoorsman, he later moved to a “fisherman’s dream” home located on a channel in Omro. Ralph was an avid hunter, enjoying time with his relatives and friends at “White Tail” deer camp, Fence, WI. His bowling league success acquired him many award winning trophies. Ralph also enjoyed gardening, golf, sheep head and belonged to a cribbage club. In addition, Ralph served as an usher at Trinity Lutheran Church in Menasha, for many years.
After only a short retirement, an unexpected health problem put him in a Care Center for almost twenty years. At the Care Center, he enjoyed playing Bingo, with the help of his late roommate George Vissers. “Thank You.” The family greatly appreciated George’s and Agnes Jeske’s kindness and friendship to Ralph.
Survivors are: one brother, Raymond (Janet) Borree, Kaukauna; one sister, Mildred Beford, Menasha; one sister-in-law, Mrs. Arthur (Irene) Borree, Kaukauna; many nieces, nephews, and friends. He is also survived by a special friend, Charlotte, to whom he was married 28 years. Ralph was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Elizabeth (Hugo) Deno; eight brothers: Otto (Alice), Herman (Alexia), Alfred, Walter (Caroline), Harry (Ruth) Rueben, Louis (Rose), and Arthur; and a brother-in-law, Robert Beford.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 am on February 27, 2010 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 300 Broad St., Menasha, with Rev. Steven Billings and Rev. Harley Kopitske officiating. Visitation will be at the church from 9:30 am until the time of service at 11:30 am. Internment will be at Highland Memorial Park, Appleton.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Ralph’s name.
Ralph’s family would like to thank Dr. Bruce Danz, Dr. Avi Bar-Lev and other doctors who treated Ralph thru the years. Sincere thanks are also due to the Vallhaven Care Center and Colony Oaks Care Center. Special thanks are also due to the personnel of Primrose Lane of St. Paul Home and to the staff of St. Paul Hospice for your concern and compassion for Ralph over many years.
