Kohanski, John J.
Menasha
John Kohanski, age 95, passed away, at home, on Wednesday, July 21, 2010. John was the son of John Sr. and Alice (Stinski) Kohanski. He attended Menasha High School graduating in 1932. Married Helen Margaret Tonn on June 20, 1939. Worked for Marathon Corporation and American National Can as a supervisor at the Canal Plant for 35 years. Retiring at the age of 56 on January 1, 1972, being retired more years than he had worked was a big accomplishment. John and Helen moved to their Lake Poygan residence upon his retirement, living there for 21 years, where he spent most of his time fishing and snowmobiling.
Survivors include; His loving wife of 71 years; Helen, Daughter; Nancy (Jerry) Buech, their children: Lori (Jim) Imlay; Chris ( Perry) Lee; Amy ( Jon) Buech; Daughter; Betty (Jerry) Mutza, their children: Mike (Mary) Mutza, Brad (Angie) Mutza, Debbie ( Kelly) Conyers, Holly (Mike) Belcaster : Daughter; Kathie(Dean) Hinske; their children: Dana Daczyk, Sarah (Brent) Wentlandt, Aaron (Sarah) Hinske, Laura Hinske, along with 21 great grandchildren.
John was preceded in death by his parents: a sister and brother in law; Marion (George) Foth, in-laws; Thora (Raymond) Schuster, Lois (Earl) Fenn, Marvin Echtner, Edward (Bernie) Tonn, Virgil (Elaine) Tonn, Jim Tonn.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 am, Saturday, July 24, 2010, at St. John the Baptist Church, 516 DePere St., Menasha. Visitation will begin at 9:30 am, at the church, until the time of the mass.
Entombment will be at Highland Memorial Park, Appleton.
